Albuquerque 30.04 Eddie Moore
Claire Cansick
£500
Description
I painted this as part of my Climate Project as it reminded me of a painting I made in 2019 of a smoke filled forest. The technical challenge was in mixing the colours to create a believable colour perspective behind varying amounts of smoke.
It was painted as part of a project I undertook in 2022, to record reportage of the climate crisis.
The source photo was taken by renowned landscape photographer Eddie Moore.
The project, titled You And I Are Earth was exhibited in it entirety at Firstsite Gallery and Museum, Essex, in 2023.

Norfolk, United KingdomClaire Cansick
Norfolk, United KingdomMy work embraces the shadow side of life, embodying themes of self, non self, and a deep concern for the state of the natural world. I predominantly use oil to interpret landscapes and seascapes with a tight four colour palette, which shifts slowly over time.
