Description
Stoneware clay lidded jar hand painted with slip and glaze artwork.
Most of my pieces are decorated with organic forms: seeds, pods, fronds, flowers and leaves - often inspired equally by my imagination and the developing contours of the clay itself. In this piece the ornate curves and loops evolved simultaneously with the applied decorative slip painting as a natural part of the transformation of lump of mud into finished ceramic.

My work constantly changes and develops, which I hope gives each piece a personality of its own. The only constant really is my lifelong obsession with seeds, plants and flowers which does seem to incorporate itself into my design work at every opportunity.
