'Remade Cluster 2: The Bishops Palace'
Martin Cody
£350
Description
This is one of a set of three different 'Remade Clusters' which were cast from an assembly of fired clay forms which together with hundreds of similar forms were themselves were the principal material aspect a large outdoor installation titled, 'The Negligible Things Under Your Feet' (2019) , staged in the garden of the Bishops Palace in Wells, Somerset. The installation dealt with disperal, distribution and redistribution as a sculptural strategy. Placing these items in my Exhibitd Shopfront perpetuates this strategy by distributing these forms into yet another context.
The scale of this sculpture makes it suitable for a 'cabinet of curiousity' type setting, although I know that one 'Remade Cluster' was put on a kitchen window by the buyer to look out over the Suffolk coast.
This item is inscribed as 2/5 and initialled 'MC' on the underside of the base.
