Description

This is the view across Rannoch Moor from the A9 in the highlands of Scotland travelling towards Glencoe - a lovely spot but difficult to appreciate due to care needed driving and lack of parking.

I believe in affordable art. My prints are affordable; however, I know a real sticking point is the cost of frames. This print fits into an IKEA Rodalm frame (30 x 40 cm) costing £7.

About the artist

Lindy Furby

South Yorkshire, United Kingdom

I am an artist printmaker currently living in Sheffield.  I get my inspiration from the natural environment. I travel around the countryside painting watercolour landscapes en plein aire.

Once home I convert these sketches into collagraph plates - a base usually of card, cut and torn with a range of textures added such as carborandum (sand), tiling cement, wallpaper and moss. I also use acrylic media to provide highlights. I sometimes combine collagraph plates with drypoint plates.

I ink up a la poupee using the colours from my watercolour sketches. I often roll over the images with more colours (viscosity printing) to create more subtlety.  The resulting images are both colourful and textural, although textures do not show up well on computer images. I print variable limited editions of around 10. I have prints of Scotland where I used to live, the Peak District and Cornwall where some of my family live.
