Description
This linocut print shows a lovely old veteran oak tree in the North York Moors National Park. It is a single layer linocut print using what remained of the lino block used during the making of the Meadow Oak reduction linocut print.
These linocut prints are handmade from start to finish - hand carved, inked and handprinted, and as such they will have small variations between prints - making each print into a unique artwork. When ordering please could you indicate in the notes which version you would like.
These prints were created as part of my contribution to the North York Moors ‘Grubs Up Project’ which aims to restore and protect biodiversity in the North York Moors National Park. The project included an Art Exhibition (at the Inspired by Gallery in Danby, May 2026) exploring themes like wildflowers, woodland flora, insects and pollination.
- An original single layer linocut print.
- 'Oak in Blue', 'Oak in Gold' and 'Oak in Pink' are limited variable editions of 30.

About the artist
Susan Noble
North Yorkshire, United KingdomSusan Noble
North Yorkshire, United KingdomI am an artist printmaker based in Saltburn on the North Yorkshire coast. Most of my inspiration comes from wandering around the nearby shoreline and surrounding countryside & woodlands.
For me everything usually starts with a drawing and a fresh piece of lino, and hopefully ends with a limited edition print with numerous layers of colour. As with most printmakers, I’m overly happy each time the last layer of colour prints in the right place and makes all the other colours make sense!
I've exhibited in The Directors Cut - Woolwich Contemporary Print Fair online exhibition, the Royal Society of Marine Artists Open Exhibitions at the Mall Galleries in London, the Ferens Open Exhibition in Hull, New Light Prize Exhibition 'Salon de Refuses', Great Print Exhibitions at the Rheged Centre in Penrith and have work in Yorkshire Galleries - the Staithes Gallery and the 'Inspired By' Gallery at Danby.
