Description
Sal's figurative oil paintings, influenced by film, media and popular culture explore the human emotional experience. Her depiction of anonymous subjects whose gaze and gestures are suggestive of unknown encounters allow the viewer to consider them as reflections of themselves. These are not people we know but feelings we recognise.
Many of Sal’s works use film and cinematography as sources for subjects, focussing on the gestures of fictional characters, the figures have been taken from a scene, presented out of context and re-imagined as paintings; close-up, cropped and re-edited; these paintings capture the action of expression out of context and encourage the viewer to consider the story from which it originated.
Framed in a simple black tray frame which adds about 4 cm to the dimensions. Ready to hang with fixtures on the back.

Paintings are packaged and shipped in a secure cardboard box. Shipping to the UK mainland is via Royal Mail, (or parcel force for larger works), tracked, insured, special delivery.

- If you change your mind, you may cancel or return the item within 14 days of receipt.
- Please contact me before returning any items so we can arrange the process smoothly.
- Shipping costs for returns are the responsibility of the buyer unless the item is damaged.
- Please contact me if your item doesn’t arrive within 10 business days of dispatch.
- If your item arrives damaged, please contact me within 5 days of receipt with photos and a description of the damage.
- Refunds will be processed directly to your bank account. This is dependent upon you providing your bank details in a timely manner.
- You can cancel your order before dispatch. Please contact me as soon as possible if you wish to cancel through your Exhibtd account area.
- Custom or commissioned artworks cannot be returned unless faulty or damaged.
