Description
In the stories of Greek Mythology, Gaia was the name of the ancestral mother of Earth. Scientist James Lovelock developed a more modern view of the planet but kept the name, the Gaia theory. This theory has Earth and all living things so closely intertwined, one with the other, that they together form a single, complex, self-healing system called Earth. This painting was inspired by that idea.
