Description
Flotsam is part of a small series of cartographic style drawings based upon old macro-photographs/close ups, I took, of a series of long ago destroyed abstract paintings, in particular, areas of the works where paint and other media had reacted and separated.
These created images with a far greater potential and by recreating and simulating the photographs in different formats, I wanted to change the nature of their mythology, from paint to strata, from abstract to landscape. This image is unframed, 15cm x 15cm, 18cm x 18cm including the border. The work has small pinholes in the corners where they have been pinned to a board for exhibition purposes.
